WHAT’S THE STORY
The Crooks play a raw punk rock’n’roll with a real personal sound that leads you immediately to those atmospheres known as NY ’77 scene, tough they’re from Milan, Italy. It is with this attitude that, back in 1997, Fab (vocals, gtr) formed the band that in two years became a good attraction for young punkers, playing all around Italy alone or supporting bands from different countries, like Libertine (USA), Happy Revolvers (D) , Jackpot (USA), Glucifer (NW) and The Datsuns (NZ).
From 1999 to 2007 they’ve recorded a 7” single (You make me Feel so sick), an EP (the dog), Three albums (Speed kills, Nothing to lose and High society R’N’R) and a bunch of songs spread in many compilations and tributes all around the world (Joey Ramone italian Tribute/Metallik KO, Johnny Thunders Tribute / R3, Locals Comp /La Skaletta, Rock sound speciale punk n° 10,14…ecc.).
Still alive and kicking the Crooks are going straight to the heart of rock and roll right now!
Siamo a Milano nell’afoso agosto del 1997 quando Fab (voce e chitarra) da vita a quello che sarà il primo nucleo dei The CROOKS. In repertorio una dozzina di pezzi: ruvido punk’n’roll che fin dal primo ascolto porta indietro nel tempo fino ad un’altra estate di circa vent’anni prima, alle strade sporche e affollate di N.Y., a Johnny Thunders e ai “Dolls”.
Nei loro primi due anni di vita i Crooks si dedicano quasi esclusivamente all’attività live, dividendo il palco con nomi quali Libertine (USA), Happy Revolvers e Jackpot (USA) ed in seguito anche con Glucifer (NW) e The Datsuns (NZ). I The Crooks osservano, imparano, suonano, alla costante ricerca di uno stile più personale, il LORO stile.
Dal 1999 al 2007 la Band ha pubblicato un 45 giri (you make me feel so sick), un EP (the Dog), tre album di cui due per la Tre Accordi Records/self (Speed kills, Nothing to lose)e uno per la UK Division Records (High society r’n’r), oltre ad un nutrito numero di pezzi sparsi in varie compilations e tributi di mezzo mondo (Joey Ramone italian Tribute/Metallik KO, Johnny Thunders Tribute / R3, Locals Comp /La Skaletta, Rock sound speciale punk n° 10,14…ecc.).
Sempre selvaggi, scatenati ed arroganti i Crooks sono oggi una delle migliori live band italiane e con il loro sound arrivano dritti al cuore del rock and roll.
